faq
- What is JSON-LD and why does it matter for AI?
- JSON-LD is schema.org structured data in a script tag. It states facts about a page (what the product is, what it costs, who wrote the article) in a form search engines and AI systems read without guessing from the layout.
- Where do I put the snippet?
- Anywhere in the page HTML, usually the <head>. In Next.js render it as a script in the page component, in SvelteKit inside <svelte:head>, in Astro in the layout head. It must be in the HTML the server sends, not added later by a script.
- Which type should I use?
- Organization (and WebSite) on the homepage, SoftwareApplication or Product on product pages, Article on blog posts, FAQPage where the page shows questions and answers, LocalBusiness for a physical location. A page can carry more than one.
- Can I make up values to fill required fields?
- No. Markup that does not match the visible page can be ignored or penalized. Only add facts that are true and shown on the page.
